This timepiece, powered by a new manual-winding skeletonized movement and weighing less than 5 grams, boasts numerous highlights worthy of our in-depth exploration. Let's take a closer look.

I would never call Richard Mille a minimalist. Its bold designs are highly individualistic, exuding luxury on the wrist, and the brand is renowned for its use of diverse materials and incorporating numerous complications. However, in its latest timepieces, we see a surprising restraint, displaying only simple hours, minutes, and seconds.

The RM 55-01, a timepiece that displays only the time, showcases the brand's lightweight interpretation of minimalist architecture. Its lightweight case is built around the ultra-lightweight skeletonized RMUL4 movement, which appears to float within it. Indeed, UL stands for "ultra-light," and the aforementioned architecture has been simplified to its most basic elements: the mainspring barrel, the time train, and the balance wheel.

This movement weighs less than five grams and is meticulously designed to fit perfectly into the watch case. The case dimensions are deliberately kept within a conservative range (37.95 x 10.75 x 47.33 mm) to optimize wearing comfort and visual balance.
