The International Cricket Council (ICC) has postponed its decision on implementing a two-tier system for Test cricket. The current World Test Championship (WTC) cycle will proceed with the existing nine-team single-league format. The proposed two-division model, supported by Cricket Australia and the England and Wales Cricket Board, has been deferred due to concerns from other Test nations regarding financial fairness and promotion/relegation complexities
